Can you please figure out what the sagsgknsdg is going on with my son?
And figure away to break this asijgairjg fever.
So after having to get blood work and finally having to do a catheder to get urine, we found out that not only did he have the stomach virus, but also a urine infection. Which is the reason why his fever was so high.
Why they couldn't have figured this out the first time is beyond me.
Adrian ended up missing a week of school. He started getting well, but then he wouldn't sleep! He would sleep for 1-2 hours and be up for 2-3, then fall asleep again for 1-2 hours, then be up for 2-3. It was ridiculous! And all he wanted to do was for us to drive him around. Nothing we did calmed him down and if he wasn't being driven he was whining and crying.
Very frustrating...
Well... we called his pediatrician. It was going on like this for about 5 days and we just couldn't take it anymore. We tried everything we could possibly imagine and nothing would work. To make things worst, Adrian was not only crabby because he wanted his way, but crabby because he was tired. Which made me and his dad really crabby and at each other's throats. Anyways, Adrian's pediatrician called us back and I explained to him what was going on and that we finished the medication, but now he isn't sleeping. So he told me he is going to send a prescription to our pharmacy. Thank you!
Couple hours later I go to the pharmacy to pick up Adrian's medication. I ask if this is for him to help him sleep. They tell me it's for blood pressure... Blood pressure? The pharmacist looked at me funny and so I told her my story. She was very helpful and looked into it for me. Now I can't recall the medication on the top of my head, but apparently it was a medication used to control symptoms of ADHD, but can, at times, be used for Autism. However, it is a very intense medication that you can't miss a day on, need to talk to our pediatrician before wheening him off, and don't all the sudden stop it before wheening him off because it will spike his blood pressure and cause all these issues.
Uhhhhhh.... Are you serious? He is 5 and never been on any medication before. I am SO not comfortable with this...
The pharmacist was very nice and decided to do a little more investigating on the dosage and whether or not this is what our pediatrician meant to prescribe.
Adrian and I decided to go home and the pharmacy was going to call us with an answer. I discussed what happened with Adrian's dad and right away he was against Adrian taking it. So we needed to come up with another plan to get Adrian to sleep. Adrian's grandmother had came over later that evening and tells us that she overheard some ladies at work talking about sleeping and one of the ladies grandchild was having difficulty sleeping. And what it seems that Adrian has when he wakes up is anxiety. She recommended we try calling a Farmer's Market (which for us was Sunflower now Sprout) to see if there is an all natural product we can give Adrian to help him with his issue. I was down for that.
So I call our local Farmer's Market, Sunflower, and talk to the manager. She was SO informative and helpful, especially since she has a son who has Aspergers, a niece with Autism and a grandson with Asperger's.
Needless to say this woman introduced us to a product called "Rescue Remedy" and, I tell you, it really did rescue us!
That night we tried Rescue Remedy, Adrian still had the same sleeping patterns, but once he woke up we gave him 4 drops of the Rescue Remedy on his tongue and within minutes he would fall back asleep. In a couple of days Adrian was back to sleeping through the night we FINALLY got to sleep as well.
